Workshop  Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement

The Workshop under the general theme “Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement” is scheduled for Monday, December 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Charles H. Cho (Schulich School of Business | York University, Canada) and Blerita Korca, PhD (University of Bamberg, Germany) will be guest speakers during the event, and attendees will have the chance to share and exchange research experiences.

The Workshop is organized in association with the Polish National Science Center Grant No. NCN OPUS 2019/33/B/HS4/00998 “Corporate social practices and related disclosures: The role of stakeholder engagement” at the KUE Campus, where the upcoming Conference will also be held. Our Speakers

Charles H. Cho

Charles H. Cho is Professor of Sustainability Accounting and the Erivan K. Haub Chair Business & Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting Track) from the University of Central Florida. His research interests include Social and Environmental Accounting; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); and Accounting and the Public Interest, and has published his work in leading international academic journals. He currently serves as an Editor of Accounting Forum and the Accounting and Business Ethics Section Co-Editor of the Journal of Business Ethics. He is a Council member of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research. In addition, he was selected as one of the “Top 50 Academic and Research Support Project” from the Republic of Korea’s Prime Minister and Minister of Education and was recognized as one of the top 2% most cited scholars within discipline worldwide (34th in the world and 1st in Canada) in the Accounting field for 2019.

 

Blerita Korca

Blerita Korca is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bamberg in Germany. She has completed her PhD studies in Italy and spent time as a visiting researcher in the UK. Her research focus lies in the field of Sustainability Accounting & Reporting. More specifically, Blerita’s research delves into the role of regulations in shaping sustainability reporting and its consequences on both financial and sustainability performance. Blerita’s research has been published in international journals and presented at numerous academic conferences. Additionally, Blerita currently serves as the European Ambassador at Accounting for Impact.
